The One Month Photo Dump

It has been quite a while since my last post. Usually that means that I haven’t been getting tattooed. Thankfully, and embarassingly, that is not the case. I have been making my regular appointments but have been way too lazy to write up blog posts about them. Perhaps that is for the best as I’m certain that each entry would have been nothing more than me complaining about how much it hurts. Almost the entirety of this chest has been a major bummer, but I have a really short memory for pain and the tattoo is coming out awesome. Fortunately, I was not so lazy that I was not regularly taking photos of my progress. The galleries below are split up by session. These sessions were my 121st-123rd appointments with Horizakura. Each session was 2 hours of sweet, sweet tebori love.

In looking forward, there are two items of some interest. Interest to whom? Probably just me, but then again you’re here reading it aren’t you? The first is that, if I do not miss any more appointments for the rest of the year (unlikely) I will have had more appointments in this calendar year than any previous year. The second, and much more interesting for the purposes of my tattoo design, is that it seems Horizakura has settled on the design for my right sleeve extension. He mentioned a couple times about figuring out ways to tie in my existing half sleeve with Fudo on my left sleeve. The idea plays off of the two attendants of Fudo-myo, Seitaka Doji and Kongara Doji. They are often depicted alongside Fudo Myo in different works, but since my forearm is too small to acoomodate them both, the thought is Horizakura will put their respective bonji on my arm surrounded by rock and fire and water to match my other sleeve. It’s an exciting and interesting idea, I’m excited to see how it turns out if that is in fact what ends up happening! Too often the plan has shifted by the time the appointment finally arrives, the only reason I both keeping track of those idea here is for my own posterity. It’s fun to think about what might have been. With that said, the only thing left to getting this blog current is the titular dumping of the photos. Behold:
